Hard to Vote

So I cast my pyrrhic vote today (for President at least) in Washington, D.C. It was the third time I had voted, and the second time I’ve voted in a general election. I recognize that the excitement this election has generated will probably result in historic turnout levels, but still, what struck me most is just how damn difficult it is to vote in this country.

Rachel Maddow dubbed the phenomenon “the new poll tax”, and it’s true, for a developed modern country, the process of voting is extraordinarily difficult.
