Old Media/New Media

Jonathan Martin reports that according to Nielson, more people watched John McCain’s acceptance speech than Barack Obama’s by a margin of 500,000 (38.9 million to 38.4 million). I’ll just add that I, like many Obama supporters I know, watched Obama’s speech online. It’s quite likely a significant number of people followed suit, and probably less likely the same happened for McCain, who presumably has many supporters like himself who don’t know how to use a computer. Plus there were the roughly 70,000 more in the stands.
