There’s been a lot of talk lately about how Obama and the Democrats need to be more on the offensive, and I really don’t see a better time to start than tonight at the DNC, which will focus on foreign policy. Iraq, by far the most notable foreign policy initiative by the Bush administration and one which John McCain backs fully, has been a disastrous failure. (Along these lines, the McCain campaign released another “ad” today egregiously distorting Obama’s position on Iran and Israel to almost hilarious fear-mongering effect.)
I was going to write more about this, but instead, just read Andrew Sullivan. I wish he went into more detail explaining why the liberal internationalist view is better, rather than just showing how neoconservative policies are disastrous, but another day I suppose.
